Hockey is a tough sport. From the first time on ice when kids have to learn to pick themselves up after a fall through the highest levels of competition, this sport demands physical and mental toughness.
We have a great young skater in our Cross Ice program, Noah Sanger, who is facing a different sort of challenge…a battle with Leukemia.
For those that have met Noah, you’ll know of his courage and toughness. He’s an active kid that plays hockey, soccer, and loves to play with his younger brother…he is an inspiration to us all. The good news is Noah has a great support team, from his family and friends to his medical team, to his hockey family.
To help Noah and his team as they fight this battle, Middleton Youth Hockey is offering each player the opportunity to show your support by purchasing a “SUPER NOAH” helmet sticker. These stickers will be available through your Team Rep. Your donation of $5 will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to fund research and family support for those affected.
Middleton will be hosting a 18U hockey team this season! The first practice is scheduled for next week Monday November 12th. Other 18U teams this year will be Verona, Waunakee, Blaze, SHAW, Oregon, Dodgeville and Marinette. The Middleton team roster will be comprised of Middleton skaters and interested skaters from other area clubs. Registration has been setup on our website and is open to skaters registered and attending high school or an approved Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction home study program, 18 years of age and under on the first day of the school year, not on a WIAA High School roster. The number of practices and games each week can vary but generally include two weeknight practices at Capitol Ice Arena and one to two games on weekends. The season ends with a league tournament in Wisconsin Dells on March 1st – 3rd
CHANGING THE GAME PROJECT - OCT 21
CtGP is an organization focused on giving youth sports back to kids by changing the way parents and coaches interact with athletes and each other. This leads to a healthier club environment for kids across all levels. Some of the coaches within our club have attended CtGP sessions around the state and have nothing but great things to say. (Learn more here: Changing the Game Project)
Updates were made to week 2 on 9-28-2018. Please check the new schedule.
